THANK YOU!
Ok, I don't normally do posts like this, but I've been really loving some online businesses lately and I think they deserve as many people talking about them as possible.
I've been looking at many independent stores on etsy.com as research for my own store. The result is that I have very little tolerance for big companies online that don't have the same level of customer service, and attention to detail that so many etsy sellers succeed with. So, when I do run into the occasional larger online company that really seems to get it...I just have to say THANK YOU!
Here are two to start with.
MOO.COM
Moo is a printing company and here is why you should check them out, if not use them.
1. They do something that they call "printfinity". Let's say you order a pack of stickers. You can get a different image (of yours) on every single sticker. This is VERY cool. Many other places force you to only get like 200 of one image which is poo. The prices are not ridiculous either.
2. Business cards. I'm always wondering what kind of quality card i'm going to get when I work with a company. Some places charge for samples of their cards, or if it is free, it's almost always a set of samples they designed. BUT MOO will give you 10 cards with different designs on each (printfinity) and let's you go through the whole process as if you're buying a real set of cards. The best part is you don't way a thing. The 10 cards have a small moo label on them, but they're your cards. THIS BLOWS MY MIND.
I haven't received my sample cards yet, but when I do I'll post a picture.
WARBYPARKER.COM
I'm also flirting with Warby Parker right now. Check them out. I just ordered they're free home trial try-on. I will put a full review up once I've tried their product. However, so far, they're website and customer service is blowing my mind. I'm primed and ready to give them my $95 in exchange for a relationship with their product. Which is saying a lot. $95, although a completely reasonable price, is still a fair chunk of change for this working artist. Ruh Roh!
p.s. have you seen svpply.com yet? Careful, you'll be stuck for ages.

MAY it all go well
Hello all!
I know I've been terrrrible about posts, but here's a new one for ya.
I've been helping TA classes at the school I work for, so I've been a little extra busy lately. Things are still chugging along with my art "business". I've been updating my facebook page every few days, so I would recommend "liking" my page to follow the day to day of what I'm producing.
In other news I'm also working with my cousin to create special designed items for her wedding. So far I've done her invites, her ceremony program, and a few other things. The drawing at the top of this page is an element I took from her wedding invite (true story).
My husband has been here 4 months now, and is almost done with his first semester of university! (Well done to him). The summer is fast approaching and I'm a little envious of his student schedule! No fair! I can't complain too much though because we will both be going to Holland for my best friends wedding. No I can't afford it, but hey, what are credit cards for...right? (i'm dying a little inside having just said that). When we get back from that trip we are then going straight to Canada for my cousins wedding. SO MUCH FUN!
So yes, I have weddings on the brain. This summer a half dozen of my friends are getting married/having children. This month in particular is quite the busy time. I am going out of town two weekends in a row for two different gown fittings. I'm also organizing a bridal shower, and attending a baby shower and someone else's bridal shower. Oh yeah, and my 2 year anniversary is in a week! We are going to the nearest "city" for a movie and dinner. It's nice getting to spend a day out with my hubbs once in awhile. Oh and on top of all that it's my birthday at the end of the month. I have to keep reminding myself, because all the other fun things this month are sounding a lot more fun then my birthday usually is!
Spring is her as well...although it might snow tomorrow...but today is gorgeous and warm.
Above is an illustration I created recently. The original has been sold, but cards of the print are available on REDBUBBLE. A site I'm going to try out...I'm not positive I will stick with it. If any of you purchase anything from there, I would LOVE your feedback.

| This years Christmas Card (not from the artist series) |
Well hello there!
So last month saw me illustrating every day to keep up with the demands of small watercolor illustration portraits. I had a really good month with Christmas sales. I'm sure sales will be settling down with the end of the season, but I'm still busy thanks to a new series I started.
A few nights ago I was drawing while my friends were over for knitting night. One of my friends suddenly said "You should do Freda Kahlo!"
I instantly started to draw Freda as a cat (her una-brow was easily translated as the cats stripes). Once I had finished I showed her to everyone, and one friend pipped up and said "Freda Calico!" Well that was it, a series was instantly started. We all brainstormed for an hour and came up with 20 new names. Since then friends and family have helped my compile pages of names of famous artists, writers, dictators, rulers and the like...all as animals! I will be working through all of them as series, but I decided to start with Artists.
This Friday night the artist series is debuting at Flying Leap gallery in Fairfield. They will be for sale for somewhere between $25 and $30...for framed originals!
I have scanned all the images and will be making prints from them most likely. I'm also considering making a little book of them as well...we'll see what happens.
For sneak-peak pictures from the series check out my new Facebook page. Make sure to like it! Every like helps me out a lot.

All the best and Happy New Years to all of you!
